Terms of Service

The following terms and conditions govern the relationship between you and Madagascar Ideal Adventures.

1. Acceptance of the Travel Contract and Payment

When you make a booking you are confirming that you understand and accept, on behalf of yourself and all others in your party, the Terms and Conditions of the Travel Contract.

2. Payment

Before the booking is confirmed by Madagascar Ideal Adventures and the contract comes into existence, you are required to pay a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total trip cost. The balance is due 60 days before the start of the trip.
Cancellation fees and charges to change the booking have to be paid immediately.

3. Services

3.1 Following written confirmation of your booking on an agreed trip any subsequent change will require a new confirmation to show that alteration.
3.2. Madagascar is a third world country which is not fully geared up to tripism tourism. You should therefore be prepared for changes to the route and accommodation right up to the last minute and remember that some facilities will not be the same as in developed countries. A degree of flexibility will ensure you enjoy the experience to the full.

4. Changes to prices and services.

4.1. An adjustment to the price of the trip is possible at any time if there is a change of fixed transportation tariffs, taxes or fees by a business partner. If such changes occur less than three weeks before the start of the trip, the traveller can cancel without charge. Cancellation has to be in writing to Madagascar Ideal Adventures, without delay.

4.2. Madagascar Ideal Adventures will consider any request to alter elements of the overall trip as long as the suggested change is not major and does not alter the basic structure of the original agreed trip.

5. Cancellation by the traveller

Any cancellation must be made in writing and it is essential that an acknowledgement is received from Madagascar Ideal Adventures as the date of this acknowledgement determines the cancellation period.

For cancellation prior to 60 days before starting the trip, the cancellation fee is 25% of the price per person. Cancellation between 60 to 30 days before departure 50%, 30 to 15 days before departure 65% and for cancellations 15 to one day before, non appearance or withdrawal after starting the trip, the fee is 100% of the total cost.

6. Cancellation by Madagascar Ideal Adventures

If the stated minimum numbers are not achieved by 30 days prior to the start of the trip, Madagascar Ideal Adventures reserves the right to cancel the trip and offer an alternative schedule.

If an alternative trip is not acceptable, or not available, the monies paid to Madagascar Ideal Adventures will be fully refunded.

7. Insurance

We strongly advise all travellers to take out appropriate insurance, covering cancellation and curtailment, at the time of booking. Cover for emergency medical evacuation, other medical expenses and personal baggage is essential.

8. Health and risks

The trips offered by Madagascar Ideal Adventures involve some level of physical activity, sometimes optional. By signing the contract you are acknowledging this warning and releasing Madagascar Ideal Adventures from any responsibility for any damages or injury which may occur as a result of any activity, optional or otherwise. It is the sole responsibility of travellers to obtain appropriate medical advice on specifically, anti-malaria precautions, as well as any other medical or health considerations, and to advise Madagascar Ideal Adventures prior to departure of any specific medical conditions.

9. Force majeure

In circumstances beyond the control of either party, such as war, strike, riot or act of God, where one or both parties is unable to fulfill their obligations because the trip is considered too difficult or risky to either party then the contracts will be cancelled.

10. Liability of Madagascar Ideal adventures

Madagascar Ideal Adventures is liable:

a) for the conscientious preparation of the trip;
b) for the careful choice and supervision of their business partners;
c) for the accuracy of the trip description, but not for information given in descriptions or brochures of sites or hotels, not edited by us, but added to your travel documents, d) for the operation of the trip as agreed in the contract to the localities and visits stated.

11. Damages

The clients can ask for recompense should Madagascar Ideal Adventures not fulfil the agreed services, unless Madagascar Ideal Adventures is not responsible for the underlying problem.

12. Data protection

All personal particulars provided to enable us to arrange your trip will be secured against abuse.

13. Complaints

Should you have any complaints you are asked to inform Madagascar Ideal Adventures immediately so that any problems can be resolved, before cancelling the contract.

If you have tried to resolve an issue whilst on the trip and have failed to rectify the situation, your complaint should be sent to Madagascar Ideal Adventures, in writing, and within 28 days after the end of the trip.

14. Product name

The trips are organised under the product name Madagascar Ideal Adventures.

Canoeing Down The Tsiribihina

This five day tour combines a canoe trip down the Tsiribihina River using a traditional wooden boat made from timber endemic to the region. Our journey will take about three days and we will spend around six to seven hours a day on the river. Explore the Sakalava countryside from a different perspective and at night, sleep on the river shores sharing the campsites with turtles and crocodiles...

Famous Indri & The Dancing Lemur

This tour enables visitors to experience the amazing and varied landscapes and unique biodiversity of Madagascar. In Andasibe, you will have the opportunity to see the Indri-Indri, the biggest of the lemurs in Madagascar reaching up to 1 meter in size. It lives in small family groups communicating with others with loud ghostly howls. In Berenty, known as the Kingdom of the Lemurs, you will see the well-documented Ring-tailed Lemur (Maki) and the Dancing Lemur (Sifaka) as well as other species including Brown Lemurs, the nocturnal Lemurs and Mouse Lemurs - a feast day for any photographer!
